You Can Take Our TV and Cell Phones, But Don't Touch the Internet

PewInternetProjectDon’t let the throngs of people clamoring for the new iPhone 3G S outside your neighborhood Apple store fool you. A new study from Pew Internet & American Life Project shows that in this time of economic hardship, people are giving up cell phones and TV.

One thing Americans aren’t willing to part with, however, is Internet service. In fact, even in the face of financial turmoil, more and more people are purchasing high-speed Internet.

Study Shows Demographic Differences in Internet Marketing Priorities

linked_in_logoA recent poll on LinkedIn, published by freelance marketing advisor Carlos Redlich, revealed some rather interesting results.

In an attempt to narrow the focus of an e-book he’s preparing, Redlich asked members of the professional networking site to answer the question “What Are Your Biggest Questions On Internet Marketing?” They had five categories from which to choose:

-Hypnotic Copywriting
-The All Mighty Salesletter
-Magnetic Marketing Strategies
-Organic SEO For Top Results
-I Want it ALL!

Not surprisingly, of the 182 people who participated in the poll (the number of respondents just before this post was published), 35% said they ‘Want it ALL,’ with another 25% preferring ‘Magnetic Marketing Strategies.’ The other half chose more specific interests as you’ll see on the graph after the jump.

Litmus Puts Its 'Fingerprint' on E-mail Client Stats

fingerprint1Whoa! Color us impressed.

A new service from Litmus’ Fingerprint e-mail analysis system offers accurate, up-to-date statistics on e-mail client usage.

Until now, the Internet marketing industry had to rely solely on suspicion when it came to who was using what e-mail client, leaving us to test our e-mails blindly. Even then it was anybody’s guess how it’d turn out on the other end if recipients were using an e-mail client not on our radar. At the very least, the process made us feel better.

This new service, however – well, it can tell you exactly what e-mail clients your customers are using. By embedding a single line of HTML code in your e-mail newsletter template, Fingerprint will deliver near-real-time statistics with its patent pending technology.

Your head is spinning, right? Ours, too.

Style.com Adds Juice to Apple's iPhone With Couture and More

Invitation to New York Fashion Week get lost in the mail? Ours too. But that doesn’t mean you can’t get your fishtail-train fix.

Thanks to Style.com, the Spring ’09 ready-to-wear collections of Charles Nolan, Diane Von Furstenberg, Preen and 14 other designers are now available via an application made exclusively for iPhone and iPod Touch. According to a recent New York Times article, the app offers pics and vids from last July’s couture collections as well as daily updates from many of this week’s runway shows.

Hot on the heels of design demigods Ralph Lauren and Chanel, both of which recently launched mobile apps, Style.com’s app isn’t one of Apple’s forgettable third-party throwaways; to fashionphiles, it’s the equivalent of Gianni Versace rising from the dead to revive what lil’ sis Donatella destroyed. It’s also as comprehensive as apps in this category come, with show listings, blog items, and images that when tapped reveal a model’s name and a short review of the show in which he or she appeared.

So what does all this mean for you, ye of double-breasted Diors and Hervé Léger handbags?
